Subject: Implementation of the IATA Module in the Customs System of Aruba
The Department of Customs of Aruba informs that, as part of the process of digitalizing customs procedures, the IATA Module is being implemented within the Asycuda World system in Aruba.
This initiative falls under the adoption of international practices and aims to improve efficiency, transparency, and traceability in customs operations.
The new module enables the automation and electronic validation of air cargo manifest data, promoting greater integration between operators and customs administration.
To ensure a smooth transition, an adaptation period is granted from 25 may 2026 until august 31, 2026. After this date, the use of the IATA Module will become mandatory for all air cargo operations processed in the Asycuda World system.
During this adaptation period, airlines, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders must adopt the necessary measures to ensure their compliance. This includes:
Updating data transmission systems,
Adjusting electronic procedures,
Participating in training and capacity-building sessions, and
Using technical manuals and guidance provided by Aruba Customs teams.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in delays or constraints in the clearance of air cargo at customs.
Aruba Customs emphasizes the importance of the collaboration of all operators and stakeholders to ensure the success of this modernization process of the national customs system.
